Step into infinite space and disappear into the cosmos. Is that a long intro? No. Don't worry about waiting for the vocals to come in because they won't be there. There are two tracks with singing the Neil Young cover "Old Man" and the MG original "The Heart Guides The Soul". Also, "The Same" is with a choir that I piecemealed together with some friends. Each song takes a different journey using different forms styles and instruments. Click on each song for a description. Go on do it..

On a budget of zero and A list connections at zero I jumped in and decided to record everything myself. With the help of some friends it all came together. Enjoy and spend lots of money while you're here.

about

The nature of creation is chaos. To seek order in nature and the world around us is self-delusional because everything is in a constant state of flux and change. Even in our state of rest there are chemical reactions percolating and changing the cells of our bodies. The moments when we are moved by poetry that transforms our state of being, like the sun which acts as catalyst and can transform water from one state to another. The heat excites the molecules or the lack of heat can slow down their motion to a state of stationery vibration. Either way there is always something going on to evolve a change - moment to moment chaos, like the universe unfolding.

The album, “In The Shadow of The Sun”, is a tree that bears fruits that contain the seeds of creation, change and evolution. In a wind-tossed world with its heartaches and joys it is sometimes a wonder how a seed can germinate into a seedling with roots and leaves. But cultivating it with love the seedling grows tendrils that reach out to the sun, and develops into its potential of a mature tree bearing fruits of more abundance. We are comforted by the constancy of change; the revolution of the constellations with the changing seasons; and the coming and passing of rituals. The courageous act of creation tears the babe from the comforting womb ~ the babe crawling towards childhood, towards young adulthood and fully into manhood and stooping to its resting state and the journey home is complete. Life is the long way home.

Creation is an act of love. The heart that is unmoved in the face of love is dormant. The heart beats to the ancient song sung by an unfamiliar voice that resonates and emotes an alchemy - it is the alchemy of entwined ribbons: the molten magma and snaking rivers that dance, igniting the atmosphere that gives rise to the sun, the skies, the clouds, the rains and arid desert air.

The collection of the constellations that houses the sun is the map and it is with heart that the artist creates art. It is love. It is the proclamation of the truth that aches to resonate in the heart of another soul. The songs “In the Shadow of the Sun” is an expression ~ the face looking to the sun, and turns and turns on its axis, and each revolution is another season turning to the colors of the leaves, and growing another ring of experience, and a ripening towards inner truth.
